Who can use 3Block

You have to be 18 or older, sign up with your own phone number, and use your real first name. One account per person.

How to treat each other

Be the neighbor you'd want to meet. No harassment, threats, hate, or spam. No selling, recruiting, or campaigning through groups. Organizers decide who joins their group and can remove anyone; we can remove anyone from 3Block.

Meeting in person

Groups self-organize and meet in the real world; no one from 3Block is there. You are responsible for your own safety. Meet in public places, especially the first time. 3Block doesn't vet members or organizers and isn't responsible for what happens at a gathering.

Organizers and micro-grants

Organizers run their groups on their own behalf, not ours. A micro-grant is a gift toward a group's real costs and comes with the expectation that the group gives back to its neighborhood a few times a year. We can decline or stop a grant at any time.

Your content

What you post stays yours. You give 3Block permission to show it to the neighbors and groups you shared it with, which is the only reason we need it. Don't post what you don't have the right to share.

What neighbors post is their own. We don't review it before it goes up, but we can take it down and may act on reports. If something crosses a line, email support@3block.org.

Texts and privacy

We send a sign-in code when you request one. You can separately choose to receive texts about groups you join or organize, their events, and interests you follow. That choice is optional and can be changed in your notification settings. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to block texts from our sender; this may also block sign-in codes. Reply START to receive texts from that sender again, then request a new code. START does not enroll you in group and event updates. Reply HELP for help or email support@3block.org. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Read our Privacy policy for how we use your data.

Leaving, and changes

Email privacy@3block.org to request account deletion. We verify the request, remove your profile and contact details, and keep group posts and attendance history without your account attribution. Post text may still identify you; you can request removal of a specific post. The Privacy policy explains what we retain. We can update these terms; if a change matters, we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect.

No warranty

3Block is provided as is. We do our best to keep it running and accurate, but we can't promise it always will be, and we aren't liable for losses that come from using it.
